metal roofing patterns: 5:12 hip

metal roofing patterns: 5:12 hip

I finally got the scanner working, and so begins the process of filling in the pattern library for all the hip folds. This will produce the proper notch for a lay-down hip fold on a regular hip at 5:12. Notching is required for copper and heavier materials. This is crucial as cutting the notch too deep will cause the fold to leak.

To use the pattern, download both PDFs, print them out and overlay onto the scribed pans at the hip cut before it is formed. This drawing shows the right hip, however you can flip them to create the left hip.
